it's HOW you do that-- THAT's what makes you one in a million to whoever you wish to control. Doms who are capable of that are much rarer and therefore so much more compelling than the ones who play the same old "treat 'em like dirt, they'll come crawling back" song.

Thank you delrey for your post i thought it spoke to the very heart of all relationships be it BDSM, vanilla or any other. We all want acceptance and to belong in some form or another. As much a i hate to say it Supreme Master also has a point.

Aside from Supreme Master's remarks, which are pertinent, I agree with delrey in general, BUT... His words give me the impression that one female slave is pretty much like any other female slave. I think we all know that is not true. I know a few female slaves who would laugh at anyone who did not treat them like doormats. In my experience they are a relatively small, but very real minority. In my view, each slave must be treated individually, not with generalized assumptions about what a slave is or should be. A "new" Dom certainly needs knowledge, but if he is astute and dedicated he can learn quickly how to work with a particular slave effectively.

Go easy on the newbies delray. They are making their way through the difficult stages of early MasterDom like the rest of us had to back when we were coming up through the ranks. It's easy to identify what YOU feel are shortcomings in their development, but are they really shortcomings? Is your way really the right way, the only way? Or is it possible that some newbie Master will come along and redefine the ultimate formula for instilling total obedience in subs? I think the answer is maybe. Think of Sir Frank Whittle. When he was a newbie engineer, all of the most experienced aircraft designers were totally focused on improving propeller engines for aircraft. But he resisted the urge and focused on a new breed of engine called Turbojet propulsion. I don't think I need to lay out for you what happened with his ideas. They revolutionized the direction of aeronautical engineering which persist to this day.

Maybe that newbie Master who believes in treating subs like doormats is on to something. Maybe to resist letting a sub know how cherished she is will work to drive her insane with a desire to obtain her Master's acceptance. Maybe she will grow desperately feverish to feel the fleeting moments when her Master appears satisfied with her. Who knows? Thinking back on those junior high school days, I remember learning that NOT letting a girl know that you give a darn about her can have the effect of driving her crazy with desire.

Despite my profound success as Supreme Master, I NEVER turn my back on the opportunity to learn from those awkward thinking newbies cracking their whips for the first time. There is often a lesson to be learned from their sometimes bizarre, counter intuitive practices. I'd like to see you evolve into the best Master you can be. But, after finishing reading your post, I was left feeling as if you have lost touch with what it was like to be new at this. When the BDSM world was totally fresh and your Dom persona was a blank slate. Back then, I know for me, I never cottoned to some old dried out Master professing the right and wrong ways to train subs. Gentle advise YES, but not THOU SHALT DO IT THIS WAY!! Just a thought.

So many come in with such at attitude. If you want a good slave, you have to invest a LOT of yourself in the development. It pays off is spades if you do it right and yields NOTHING if you screw it up.
