STOLEN "rant about theft"
Shoeporn's picture

"Those who know me, know I like to make fun stuff. BDSM toys, mad toys with engines and scrap material art.

Some on here and one other site have had even received small gifts from me. Now, I know when I have given the limited images of my builds with people in them or just of the builds them self’s.

They may end up on the net.

Where I and them loose control of them, so they will appear in random places, on random sites.

This is the simple facts.

But what recently has angered me is on one site, one of my builds, with a friend into appeared.

Oh.

Not an issue, but the image had been cut down, this happens and will happen again.

Now, the poster of said image claimed them as her own. When she was challenges, right on her high horse, shouting her innocents, protesting how she had wronged.

Typical of those who are guilty?

None shell protest their innocents than the guilty themselves.

She even told the site moderators it was her and her master. Odd her profile originally said, she was looking. All looked set she was believed.

Until I sent the original, with me clearly show in it. 99% of the time I don’t care if my images, the ones I have lost control over appear. But I do expect when I can prove they are mine to be asked to be allowed to use them. Or they are taken down

The next image what was posted was someone completely different.

End of the matter as far as I am concerned.

Oh yes, every image I post or supply will have a “tell tell” hidden in it. Always in a place where to keep the context of the image intact. Or in some cases a small photo shop trick, what will remain on the original. Even an embedded watermark.
Or on the build itself a identifying mark.

So I can easy prove what is mine.

Yes I do borrow ideas from the web to give me a build, but I will, if I can do credit the original.

End of my Rant.

Have a nice day."

Re: STOLEN "rant about theft"

I have two pet peeves that this blog's responses are highlighting:

1. I have a difficult time with random quote marks and caps.
2. Aardvark is spelled exactly like that; although I guess a yellow one could be some completely different thing.

If I had to pick a third, it would be is continuing to do something that many people point out that you shouldn't do... if they are right (and in this case they are).

You've Got My Vote SP! - Forthright, HONEST and 'to the point'.
Why is it the case that YA is "so adamantly opposed to giving credit where credit is due"?

It is all the MORE Hypocritical each time that YA fail to attribute the Originator, yet complain that others have treated YA that way and regard such action to be unacceptable behaviour.
There is a common saying that... "TWO Wrongs do NOT make a Right" (no attribution needed).

The reason you wrote the above rant is irrelevant. In it you clearly state "yes I do borrow ideas from the web to give me a build, but I will, if I can do credit the original." You constantly post songs and poetry without crediting the true creator, I have seen people mistake the posts as your original work and you have never corrected that impression. All it takes is one line on the end giving the artist credit, that is the right thing to do and saves the rest us time doing it for you.

If I were wise perhaps I would ask why are you so adamantly opposed to giving credit where credit is due.

Re: STOLEN "rant about theft"

Well said Ms. ShoeP,

I can't pretend to understand the background to this, or what exactly prompted it.

I get mad when others simply use stuff that is not theirs, and whether 'borrowed', stolen or plagiarised - people just posting up items without so much as a nod to the correct attribution of intellectual ownership rights, be it to a photo, an artwork, sculpture cinematographic excerpt, or just the lyrics to a song or a poem.

Just Freakin' say it!
I think this picture/poem/song/music-clip by XXXX is simply wonderful; and I present it here for the enjoyment of others...

Ms. Shoe, please forgive the following puns, but it is about time people were Called to Heel.
Sadly, I do not know you, but the words and sentiments expressed should be heeded by one and all.

If each and every image on site, each and every blog or comment was re-posted by a person anonymous to the Originator - society, and this little 'family' to which we belong would soon lose its soul, lose its reason and lose its identity.

Well done ShoePorn!

I say so - Kenneth, says!
Not simple, nor simon.
Kenneth says "Long live, ShoePorn"!

All I can say is "Oh my!" in a kind of mind-blown sort of way.

Trying to follow this. Very interesting position given all the rest.
