I have to thank the OP for making me think this morning!  LOL   As I see it humility is where one sees and fathoms that their pride has been in the lead. From such a situation being brought to their attention they might feel embarrassed.  Thus the humiliation is shown through humility and from this a lesson is hopefuly learned.

Do you feel like that or does He specifically say so? Are you your own critic or did you actually receive orders to change?

 

For Master and i it's pretty simple. Sometimes He gets off on humiliating me, and i get off on the way it feels.

My mind hates it, but my body responds wildly to it. There's different levels as well. Ther's things Master does that He is aware I enjoy; and there are things that He does to me for His enjoyment that I hate.

The thing is; even if I dislike the act, the fact that I'm being forced to endure it, is a turn on in itself.

Some things are really simple that humiliate me, like when He makes me wear little bells that tinkle with every movement, so Master knows where I am at all times. Very simplistic, yet somehow to me humiliating.

Or it can be vulgar like making me beg to go pee, and only allowing me to go in the back yard and squat while He watches me go.

Or it can be embarrassing like when He makes me whimper like a puppy and eat out of bowls and fetch little toys for Him while He calls me by a puppy name. God, just thinking about it makes me blush...but it also makes me wet.

Humiliation is a many splendored thing. By that I mean that it affects everyone in very different ways. I am perhaps very lucky that I have several slaves. However, humiliaiton means, and affects them differently.

For example one slave said to me about humiliaiton, "Master, you can't humiliate me, I simply don't see anything as humiliation, rather it is serving you. Also if you desire me to do it then it is something good and to be enjoyed because you would never do anything to harm me." So, in her mind she can't be humiliated.

Another slave finds humiliation bo be the most intense and wonderous experience. She just sent me a letter (because I am in Mexico on a cruise) in which she said:

Will she enjoy this when it happens, well no, not enjoy it. Will it excite her, abxolutely. The human mind is a wonderful playground and those of us who play with S/M experience emotions and trips that in my opinion are way beyond what other mortals feel.

In fact I remember hearing a very prominant shrink trying to understand what we do and he said, "Oh, I get it just because a needle pierces the flesh it need not pierce the heart." I think it is just the same with humiliation.

I believe this is what most Masters DO want, the embarassment, that certain humiliation can give.

Yes, humiliation in a BDSM context does seem to have a definition of its own!

embarassment, means a different thing, actually from the etimology : to be "in a situation/position/location" which is not considered proper or considered special.

In spanish embarazoso, means the same as in english (although it´s a "lighter" version of it) but it also means pregnant... embarazada !! So don´t mess with words as they are tricky...

having read the blog by alovingsadist, prompted me to think about Humiliation.

Owners often have Humiliation high on their list of needs as part of their Domination.

From a personal point of view, Master has sometimes found that it is hard to make Humiliation difficult for His slave.

Perhaps because Humiliation is the act of "being humble" , which we give as part of our submission to our Owners, and their control.

However, being Humiliated by something that also causes one EMBARASSMENT, is something else all together.

 

you are mistaken. the roots of the words humble and humiliate are entirely different. humble, i believe comes from humus... humiliate is something else entirely. grab a dictionary

i see the difference between the two... i think humiliation is the same as anything else, it is good, to an extent.. that extent is different with everyone though until it just becomes too much and they reach a breaking point... something that has to be handled with care, i suppose.

Whatever the dictionary definitions of the two words, we have always worked on the idea that humiliation, used well, heightens the arousal of the woman being trained, whilst embarrassment destroys the arousal. Since we wish to have the woman constantly aroused, we have used humiliation extensively but not embarrassment.

The skill of the trainer is the key here, I hope all will agree.

Each trainee differs. Each must be studied carefully. For example, many are repelled when first put to another woman sexually. We believe this repulsion should be used in gradually weaning the trainee to obey, and obey unhesitatingly, willingly and cheerfully. Pain is popular but there is more in encouraging without pain, we believe. We know others disagree and respect them.

Being humiliated oftentimes creates embarrasment and that is probably the reason why We like to humiliate the crap out of you. But the wiki definition appears to be correct. Showing you your place is humiliative but doesn't necessarily require embarrasment to occur.

Whenever I see the word humiliation being used in the context of BDSM, I automatically assume embarrasment to go with it; no need to explicitly add the word.
