That's why I liked "Justine" but was disgusted with 120 Days of Sodom. Justine had some sick, wrong stuff, but much of it was very, very dry,ironic humor about the shitty nature of hypocritical fucked-up humans who deny their sexuality, then blame everyone else for their own "sins". It wasn't supposed to be taken seriously.

But 120 days was different. It wasn't sexy stuff like raping the 13 year-old selling girl scout cookies,and then raping the girl scout's mother too when she angrily bangs on your door.

While some might question the mental status of a slave stating they are no limits..I'd have to say that I'd question the mental status of someone associating killing or out right maiming as being part of bdsm.

Who in their right minds when asked their understanding, experience, likes/dislikes regarding M/s, D/s, bdsm, etc. also feels the need to include they get off on killing others or mutilating their bodies for kicks?

Would a person who told you these interests even be worth spitting out your a no limits whatever..or would the nearest exit be the only thing on your mind?

A explanation from some when they state they are no limits is better served as to what they actually mean by that rather than slapping a questionable mental defect upon them or they are seasoned players.

A reasonable person if thought about it I would think that to state no limits means anything possibly fathomed by any human mind has been tried and triumphed by the person stating it. I'm guessing thats not going to be very logical.

I have used the term myself, and have spoken to others who have also used it, and their meanings of it are alittle more indepth and varied than one single interpretation. It is usually (at least for myself)that I am willing to go and try what Master wishes but this is with the knowledge and understanding of what all of this and terms mean to us regarding this way of life and how we envisioned that before any dynamic ensued.

Sure..either of us could of been lying. He could of really been a insane person that gets off on mutilating and snuffing out people. Then again..any man I've dated or married previously to Master could of had the same interests without my knowledge.

Honestly I've been hearing alot of talk about these two little words and it got me to wondering.

I've heard the term "No Limits" used by Doms and subs newbies and veterans a like and I know, or at very least hope, that most don't actually mean they have no limits and are willing to be chopped up or killed or cooked or whatever horror show psychopathy that the Paul Bernardo's of the world come up with. This is proven by the fact that most of those "No Limits" slaves will tell you when asked that they don't do death, mutilation or the larval form of our species, in other words those are their limits. Which begs the question: why the hell would you say you have no limits?

The only real answer I can come up with is its a social convention like saying your sick and tired of something when it doesn't actually make you ill or exhausted, or that your starving before a meal despite the fact you ate only hours ago. I think what these people who say "No Limits" are trying to get across, albeit clumsily, is that they haven't found any limits yet, that up to this point no one has proposed something they thought reasonable that the slave wouldn't do. In this case its not a situation where "No Limits" means no limits its just an abbreviated way of saying that they will do anything that lands in Sane part of SSC.

I'm not advocating that what they do is right or intelligent in any way, but unfortunately it seems to be a term that has caught a foothold and is here to stay so we might as well try to understand it.

In any case I would just like to point out this, regardless of what the slave says I have my limits and as I'm the one steering the scene they aren't getting broken.

i, myself have often conjectured about the mental stability of a person declaring that s/he has "No Limits".

A couple of interpretations come to mind:

1) Is this person mentally stable?

2) A statement making it painfully apparent that s/he is NOT an experienced player...i would surmise even the most experienced players have limits.

3) "NO LIMITS" is the quintessence of horror flicks such as the "Saw" and its sequels or the substance of Snuff movies.

If one happens to meet up to scene with someone who portends "NO LIMITS"....i say RUN in the other direction as fast as you can!
