As unreal as it sounds the orthodox Babtist church still practises to this day Domestic Discipline much on the lines of HoH, Head of House.

I know a practising minister in Australia who gives his wife, and befotre she left to get married, his daughter, weekly maintenance.

Its only difference from HoH is that the punishment was by being belted only, as hard as possible and usualy 30 to 50 lashes. The recipitent always positioned herself over the settee arm and was always ready in position at a given time with the thick strap at her side.

When the daughter maried it was to a member of the church who was given instruction into how to give regular maintenance, and when they come and visit, they live in a different state, he supervises his daughters punishment.
